Oil prices extended gains on Tuesday after the EU agreed to slash oil imports from Russia, fuelling worries of a tighter market already strained for supply amid rising demand ahead of peak U.S. and European summer driving season. Brent crude for July, which expires on Tuesday, rose $1.13 to a fresh two-month top of $122.80 a barrel at 0359 GMT. The more active August contract rose $1.34 to $118.94. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were trading at $118.25 a barrel, up $3.18 from Friday's close. There was no settlement on Monday due to a U.S. public holiday. Both benchmarks have posted daily gains since Wednesday. European Union leaders agreed in principle to cut 90% of oil imports from Russia by the end of 2022, resolving a deadlock with Hungary over the bloc's toughest sanction yet on Moscow since the invasion of Ukraine three months ago. "It is definitely very bullish for the oil price, building on supply tensions. The oil price is now heading to the highs in … [Read more...] about Oil Prices Extend Gains After EU Bans Most Russia Oil Imports

Rare 1977 GMC Jimmy Casa Grande Camper Restored Back To Retro Glory
Listen to this article The Chevrolet K5 Blazer was a long-running model of the Bow Tie brand, produced from the tail-end of the '60s up to the '90s. The two-door truck was used for a multitude of purposes – one of them was the rare Chalet Camper, made in collaboration with Chinook Mobilodge, Inc. The Blazer Chalet Camper had a cousin called the GMC Jimmy Casa Grande. Only 225 units of the Chalet's posher cousin were produced, which made the "Big House" motorhome relatively rare. One of those produced units is back to its former glory, thanks to a comprehensive restoration. Gallery: 1977 GMC Jimmy Casa Grande 18 Photos Outside, the Jimmy Casa Grande comes with a gold exterior, complete with Casa Grande decals and graphics. It looks like a pickup truck with a fiberglass-reinforced camper unit shoehorned into the bed. However, the living part is … [Read more...] about Rare 1977 GMC Jimmy Casa Grande Camper Restored Back To Retro Glory
Buenos Aires could use long circuit for 2019 return – Whiting – F1 Fanatic
FIA race director Charlie Whiting says the Buenos Aires circuit in Argentina could be renovated to join the 2019 F1 calendar. Whiting visited the track recently to advise on what changes would be needed in order for it to hold another Argentinian Grand Prix. “I was asked to go to see what would need to be done to bring it back up to Formula One standards,” Whiting told Canal F1 Latam in Italy. “I had a good look around the track, wrote a comprehensive report about what I felt needed to be done.” The Autodromo de Buenos Aires Ocsar y Juan Galvez has had three spells as a world championship venue. It held seven races between 1953 and 1960, during which time local hero Juan Manuel Fangio won four consecutive races at the track. The track returned to the calendar in 1972 and two years later was extended to include a long, high-speed loop around a lake. This was last used in 1981 and when the track returned for a four-race spell in 1995 a shorter layout was used again. However … [Read more...] about Buenos Aires could use long circuit for 2019 return – Whiting – F1 Fanatic
NFL reportedly seeks at least one-year Deshaun Watson suspension as hearing begins
As Deshaun Watson sits through a hearing Tuesday that will decide his punishment from the NFL, word has leaked that the league has recommended the Cleveland Browns quarterback be dealt an indefinite suspension that lasts at least a full season. Making the suspension indefinite would allow the punishment to be extended if more damaging details come to light. The year-long suspension recommendation was first reported by the Wall Street Journal and later confirmed by Yahoo Sports . The 26-year-old Watson, who has settled 20 of the 24 civil lawsuits filed against him that accuse him of sexual misconduct during massage sessions, denies any wrongdoing. The Houston Texans also are being sued for allegedly "turning a blind eye" to their former quarterback's behavior . Tuesday's hearing is in front of former federal judge Sue L. Robinson, who is the league's disciplinary officer approved by both the NFL and the players association. Robinson is expected to review the facts … [Read more...] about NFL reportedly seeks at least one-year Deshaun Watson suspension as hearing begins
Buick Is Best In J.D. Power Study, But Overal Initial Quality Is Down
Listen to this article For 36 years, J.D. Power has conducted its Initial Quality study to gauge customer feedback in the first few months of new-vehicle ownership. And the news for 2022 isn't good – overall initial quality has never been as bad as it is now. That doesn't mean new vehicles have gotten worse. Rather, it's a combination of traditional issues with low inventory, high prices, and missing components due to the pandemic and continuing supply chain woes. That's the main takeaway from the 2022 study, which was released on June 28. J.D. Power examines new vehicles in nine categories, including features, controls and displays, driving assistance, powertrain, seats, climate, infotainment, exterior, interior, and driving experience. Vehicle owners are asked 223 questions; the results are tabulated and ranked on a scale of problems per 100 vehicles – PP100 for short. As such, a higher number is bad, and for 2022 the overall industry average is up to 180 problems per 100 … [Read more...] about Buick Is Best In J.D. Power Study, But Overal Initial Quality Is Down

2017 Italian Grand Prix tyre strategies and pit stops · RaceFans
Mercedes’ domination of the Italian Grand Prix extended to the pit stops where they produced the fastest stationary and complete times for their two drivers. Valtteri Bottas was stopped for less time than Lewis Hamilton – 2.15 seconds compared to 2.33 for his team mate – but Hamilton’s total time spent in the pits was slightly less. Not that it mattered much, as both were well clear of the competition. As usual one-stop strategies were the way to go at Monza. The tyres proved so durable teams could be quite flexible with exactly when to make they sole pit stops. Daniel Ricciardo , one of few drivers to start on the harder soft compound tyres, was able to run a short, fast stint on super-softs at the end and attack the Ferraris. But despite having produced some of the quickest pit stops in recent seasons Williams did not rise to the occasion on one of the few occasions they have been up at the sharp end this year. Lance Stroll had one of the race’s slowest pit stops after … [Read more...] about 2017 Italian Grand Prix tyre strategies and pit stops · RaceFans
Weekend Racing Wrap: Ambulance disrupts NASCAR race – F1 Fanatic
A bizarre incident involving an ambulance almost cost a NASCAR driver a shot at the championship. Also last weekend two prominent F1 juniors enjoy successful weekends in their series and the DTM title battle closed up again. NASCAR Cup Race 26: Richmond Matt Kenseth was one of the 16 drivers to qualify for NASCAR’s title-deciding play-offs despite retiring from Saturday’s 300-mile race at Richmond after a strange incident involving an ambulance. The safety vehicle’s driver failed to stop when instructed during a caution period which forced several drivers to take avoiding action. They included Kenseth, who ran into the back of Clint Bowyer. Championship leader Martin Truex Jnr described the incident as “inexcusable”. Truex lost a healthy lead when another caution period was called with four laps to go in the race. He was then beaten out of the pits by Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin delivered the coup de grace by sticking Truex into the wall. Nonetheless Truex … [Read more...] about Weekend Racing Wrap: Ambulance disrupts NASCAR race – F1 Fanatic
Self-driving trucks to deliver goods for Wayfair on Interstate 45
