We’ve seen plenty of fast BMWs on the Autobahn. But we have never seen anything like this particular M5 from the E60 generation. This is by far not a stock car and it is actually a one-off we’ve written about back in 2009. During the golden years of WorldCarFans , this beast had the "most powerful engine" ever seen on a "road-legal BMW." These are not our words. They come from Lumma Design and G-Power , which are the two companies that cooperated to develop and build this monstrous M5. It is surely not the most powerful road-legal BMW anymore but is still quite an impressive machine. This new video from the TopSpeedGermany channel shows us the vehicle in action and we have to admit it is astonishingly quick. See The Electric Car Nissan Wants To Drive 17,000 Miles From Pole To Pole
Nissan’s new electric vehicle is about to go on an epic adventure. The automaker today revealed the modified Ariya that will make the 17,000-mile trek from the North Pole to the South Pole that starts later this year. It’s been beefed up for the trip, but the company kept the mods to a minimum while showcasing its battery-electric powertrain. The biggest upgrades are its most noticeable – the suspension and tires. Nissan gave the electric crossover a beefier suspension and chunky 39-inch BF Goodrich tires, widening the fenders to accommodate the modified gear. On top, the automaker installed a roof-mounted utility unit that houses a deployable drone. Inside, the automaker integrated an espresso machine to make the mornings out in the wilderness a bit more manageable. Watch The Mercedes-AMG One Tackle The Track From Third-Person View
Racing games give players new perspectives not always available to drivers in the real world. The third-person view behind a car is a genre staple, giving racers a broader view of the track and their competitors. A new video recreates this perspective, dangling a camera off the rear of a Mercedes-AMG One. It highlights the supercar’s stunning backside and captures its raucous exhaust note. Powering the AMG One is a Formula One-derived turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 engine paired with four electric motors. The total system output is 1,049 horsepower (782 kilowatts). It can propel the supercar to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in just 2.9 seconds. A run to 124 mph (200 kph) takes 7.0 seconds, topping out at 219 mph (352 kph). One-Off Bugatti Chiron Profilee Sells For $10.8M At Auction
The Chiron is a success for Bugatti. The French automaker has sold all 500 of the build slots for the model and its variants. Now, even the pre-series model, the one-off Chiron Profilee was sold – and it's for a pretty, absolutely beautiful penny. In an auction held in France, the Bugatti Chiron Profilee was sold for 9,792,500 euros or $10,761,223 at the current exchange rates. This price doesn't include VAT, which will bring the price up to 12 million euros or over $13 million. Bugatti-Rimac CEO Mate Rimac claims that the Profilee now holds the world record for the most expensive new car sold at auction. The one-off Bugatti Chiron Profilee bridges the gap between the regular Chiron and the Chiron Pur Sport . Its development started in 2020, but despite Bugatti knowing that it was not meant to become a series vehicle, the automaker pushed through and finished the project. Powered by Bugatti's quad-turbocharged W16 engine, the Chiron Profilee produces an impressive 1,476 … [Read more...] about One-Off Bugatti Chiron Profilee Sells For $10.8M At Auction
LUMMA CLS 730 RS Released with G-POWER 730hp Bi-Supercharger System
A German tuning/design company has just released a new performance tuning package for the BMW M5 E60. Winterlingen-based Lumma Design has been working with the engineers at G-Power on an upgrade kit to the M-badged version of the 5-series. The result is a car that uses all 730 horsepower of a bi-compressor V10 to reach a maximum speed of over 367 km/h (228 mph). The 700 Nm of torque helps the car go 0-100 km/h time in 4.2 seconds, reaching 200 km/h in just ten seconds. 300 km/h is achieved in 29.5 seconds. The companies claim this is the "most powerful engine" ever seen on a "road-legal BMW." It is certainly a huge development over Lumma's CLR 500 RS released in 2007. That car saw a "paltry" 560 horsepower. Certainly, these figures require non-stock brakes. Lumma Design's own six-piston front, four-piston rear caliper brakes are used along with drilled 405mm discs. Ultralight, three-piece forged 10x21 and 12Jx21 wheels at the nose and tail look great on the 45mm … [Read more...] about LUMMA CLS 730 RS Released with G-POWER 730hp Bi-Supercharger System
Le Mans Moto3: Binder outduels Fenati to extend championship lead
Listen to this article The South African first took the lead on the opening lap, stealing it from pole-sitter Niccolo Antonelli. However, Binder then fell behind Fenati, who passed both him and Antonelli with a single move at the Dunlop chicane. While Antonelli soon dropped outside the top five, Binder and Fenati traded positions on several occasions in the first half of the race. And it was Fenati out front when Aron Canet, the first of the two Estrella Galicia 0,0 riders able to keep up with the leading duo, stole second from Binder. The rookie could only hold on to second for a lap before dropping back to fourth with teammate Jorge Navarro then also passing Binder. However, the South African was back in second for the final four laps and managed to overtake Fenati on the penultimate lap to cross the line first. Fenati had to settle for second just ahead of Navarro and Canet, the latter nearly crashing into his teammate at the final turn. Nicolo Bulega, who … [Read more...] about Le Mans Moto3: Binder outduels Fenati to extend championship lead
