A Hero MotoCorp dealer has just revealed that the brand will launch two more 200cc premium motorcycles in India during 2018, apart from the XPulse 200 and the Xtreme 200R. Both new motorcycles will be based on the XPulse/Xtreme platform. What this also means is they’re likely to use the same 200cc, four stroke single cylinder engine. This engine, developed in-house by Hero MotoCorp at its Jaipur Research and Development center produces about 18 Bhp of peak power and 17 Nm of peak torque. It comes paired with a 5 seed manual gearbox. The engine is air cooled and gets a two valve head with a single overhead camshaft. Hero MotoCorp has also revealed that the XPulse 200 will get a single channel ABS, and so will the Xtreme 200R. This also means that the other two upcoming 200cc motorcycles will also have single channel ABS considering the fact that all new 125cc two wheelers launched in India need to feature at least single channel ABS as per government orders. The new motorcycles … [Read more...] about Hero MotoCorp to launch 2 new 200cc premium motorcycle based on XPulse/Xtreme platform

Hero Motorcorp has announced an increase in prices for its entire range of motorcycles and scooters. While the increase is not greater than Rs 625, the change in price depends on the model and the market the vehicles are being sold in. Hero Motocorp says the revision in the prices has been done to partially off-set the consistently rising input costs, including the prices of commodities. Oriol Mena ended the Prologue stage in 13th position for Hero MotoSports Team Rally Initially established in 1984 as a joint venture between Hero Cycles and Honda, the company is now the largest two-wheeler maker in India. The company rebranded itself as Hero Motocorp in 2011 after the JV was dissolved and has traditionally focused on the mass-market end of the two-wheeler industry. This is changing, however, with Hero launching more upmarket products and also developing a strong motorsport outpost. The firms model lines currently cover the 100cc, 110cc, 125cc, 150cc and 200cc motorcycle segments and … [Read more...] about Hero Motocorp revises prices across its entire range by up to Rs 625
Hero Splendor, world’s largest selling motorcycle and Honda Activa, India’s largest selling automatic scooter have a stiff competition among themselves. In the month of March, Hero Splendor regained the top-selling two-wheeler position that it had lost to Honda Activa sometime back. Both the products sell quite well in the Indian market and extremely popular. Hero sold 2,62,232 units of the Splendor in India in March while Honda sold 2,07,546 units of the Activa during the same period. While most of the times, the margin of the leader is extremely close, last month, Hero zoomed past Activa in terms of sale. This comes at a time when Honda launched the new Activa 5G in the Indian market. There are not many changes to the new Activa but subtle changes like LED headlamps keep the scooter fresh in the market. Honda launched the Activa in March and many prospective customers must have waited to see the scooter before deciding. It may have lead to the lower sales of the Activa … [Read more...] about Hero Splendor BEATS Honda Activa in India
Less than two years have passed since Honda launched the very unique NAVi, a pocket-sized two wheeler that’s based on the Activa platform. Now, we’re hearing that Honda may have discontinued the NAVi from the Indian market on account of poor sales. The NAVi, cute as it may seem, wasn’t bringing the big numbers for Honda – an out and out mass-market focused two wheeler giant. Monthly sales never really went past the 1,000 units mark, and the NAVi finds itself in a sticky position. In fact, Honda didn’t dispatch a single unit of the NAVi to dealerships across India in the whole of March 2018, which means that the two wheeler giant could have pulled the plug on the colourful, fun two wheeler. A cross between a scooter and a motorcycle, the NAVi was to India what the Honda Grom 125/MSX 125 is to the company’s many international markets. The last time that India saw such a ‘monkey/mini bike’ so to speak was in in the 1980s when Rajdoot … [Read more...] about Honda Activa-based NAVi: Time to say goodbye already?

Here is a list of 10 motorcycles that people have almost forgotten about. Hero Achiever Bajaj Auto Ltd sells more than 30,000 copies of the Bajaj Pulsar 150 every month. Powering the motorcycle is a 149.1 cc engine that comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It offers only 13.51 PS of power.
