Hispano Suiza isn’t exactly a household name, but that hasn’t stopped two different companies from reviving the brand in Geneva. This particular model comes from Hispano Suiza Cars and it’s a retro-inspired coupe called the Carmen. Drawing inspiration from the 1938 Hispano Suiza H6C Dubonnet Xenia, that was commissioned by World War One fighter pilot André Dubonnet, the Carmen has an aggressive front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by sporty air intakes. The model has also been equipped with a carbon fiber splitter and semi-circular headlights. The sporty styling continues further back as the Carmen has a ventilated hood and covered rear wheels which pay tribute to the original H6C Dubonnet Xenia. Speaking of the rear, it’s particularly eye-catching as it features a massive diffuser, three dimensional taillights and retro-inspired bodywork. Hispano Suiza didn’t release interior pictures, but the company has previously said the model has … [Read more...] about Hispano Suiza Carmen Is A Retro-Futuristic EV With Over 1,000 HP

Aston Martin on Wednesday gave us our first look at the mighty V-12 engine that will power its Valkyrie hypercar due next year. The engine is being developed by Cosworth, a fellow British firm that has supplied a number of race-winning Formula 1 engines over the years, and it is destined to be the most powerful naturally aspirated mill ever fitted to a production car. Aston Martin has confirmed a peak output of 1,000 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque. That's lower than the 1,130 hp that Cosworth hinted at in August but still an incredible feat considering the lack of forced induction. And the final output of the Valkyrie will be higher still as electrification expert Rimac is developing the car's hybrid system, more details of which will be released at a later date. The V-12 features a displacement of 6.5 liters and cylinders banked at 65 degrees, allowing it to be relatively low. The peak power arrives at 10,500 rpm and the peak torque at 7,000 rpm, and the engine will continue … [Read more...] about Aston Martin Valkyrie’s 1,000-hp, 11,100-rpm V-12 rated for 62,000 miles
Since the McLaren 720S has come out on top in almost every duel it has entered, being beaten in a straight line is headline material. The latest contender is a second-gen Ford GT that has approximately 1,000 HP (1,014 PS / 746 kW) at the crank, and 890 HP (903 PS / 664 kW) at the wheels. The GT’s 5.4-liter V8 has been fitted with two turbochargers and other tuned internals by Heffner Performance, and has reportedly burned a $40k+ hole in its owner’s pockets.
