They race three times, but the Demon can't win them all. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon exists to rocket down drag strips at a a fabulously quick pace, and a new video answers the burning question whether the rear-drive machine has enough performance to take down an all-wheel drive Lamborghini Huracan at the strip. This Challenger Demon is in an understated shade of dark green similar to a Mustang Bullitt, but hue fits Dodge's muscle car really well, too. Other than a set of Mickey Thompson tires replacing the stock Nittos, the vehicle is stock, and the owner has it in the full race setup with 840 horsepower (626 kilowatts). New Dodge Security System Limits Challenger, Charger To Just 2.8 HP
It's retroactive to 2015 models and free of charge, but there's a catch. The Dodge Charger and Challenger are among the most stolen vehicles in America . If we're honest, Hellcat power in the hands of actual owners with average driving skills can be daunting enough. With a desperate thief behind the wheel it can get nasty in a hurry, but Dodge now offers a free-of-charge fix to basically stop car criminals in their tracks. It comes in the form of a new security system that sounds simple and terrifically effective. Should a would-be thief get inside and start the car, the engine won't move off idle. That means the criminal will have all of 2.8 horsepower (2.0 kilowatts) and 22 pound-feet (30 Newton-meters) of torque to at their disposal for a getaway. For comparison, that's a little less than the average walk-behind lawnmower you'll find for $200 at pretty much any hardware store in America. Video Captures Dodge Challenger Engulfed In Flames On Miami Street
It's unclear how the fire started. Countless videos have captured cars, especially performance cars, catching on fire . They do so for a litany of reasons, though typical tomfoolery is often the culprit. That's why it's no surprise to find a video that has captured a Dodge Challenger engulfed in flames in Miami as spring break revelers descend on the city. There's been no shortage of shenanigans in the area, though it's unclear how the Challenger caught fire in the first place. It's easy to point blame at boy-racer antics, but the video doesn't show the start of the fire. It begins well after the Challenger's rear end is aflame. The end of the video shows that the car was sitting over a utility hole cover that was removed and busted in two. The Twitter account that caught the Challenger on the video notes that residents heard an explosion in the area that had knocked out power. According to the account, the fire department was called to extinguish a fire at a nearby … [Read more...] about Video Captures Dodge Challenger Engulfed In Flames On Miami Street
Filthy 2018 Dodge Challenger Takes A Lot Of Work To Look Good Again
This beast is no stranger to getting out there. Petrolheads often know when and where to draw the line when it comes to taking our pride and joy out on the road. Even so, there are quite a few vehicles that sit in the garage regardless of the weather. However, The Detail Geek’s latest video features a Dodge Challenger that has clearly faced a barrage of winter conditions. As he is based out of Canada, most would see the muscle car as a last resort when it comes to a winter runabout. Regardless, it’s clear that a set of winter tires and some patience behind the wheel can make a big difference. Two New Dodge Vipers Were Sold In Q1 2021, Along With A Dart
Meanwhile, Chrysler delivered one 200 sedan and Fiat shipped four 500s. The quarterly sales reports came out this week, and you know what that means, scouting for zombie cars that are stubbornly sticking around despite being long discontinued. After discovering General Motors sold a whopping 462 Chevrolet Impala sedans and no fewer than 1,065 Sonic hatchbacks, FCA Stellantis has a few undead cars as well in the sales chart. Beginning with the most exciting of them all, the Dodge Viper racked up a grand total of two sales in the first quarter of 2021. That's already half of the total volume sold last year when the V10 supercar generated four sales, down from five in 2019 and 19 in 2018. We're amazed the Viper is still appearing in the sales charts considering the final car was built at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant back in August 2017 .
