The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is one of the highest selling cars in its segment. The Ciaz really has a lot going for it. However, it has often been criticized for being a bit dull to drive and also to look at. However, Calicut-based 360 Motoring has given the Ciaz a makeover of sorts to make it look decidedly sporty and very desirable. As can be seen in the images we have on this page, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz by 360 Motoring looks far sportier than the stock version. It carries a handful of cosmetic updates, which work together to give this sedan a really sporty image. From the very Audi-esque paint scheme to the huge spoiler at the rear, there are just too many sporty elements on offer. At the front, you get a new bumper that looks far sportier than the one it replaces. It has huge air dams and even a front bumper splitter. It also carries a blackened-out hexagonal front grille instead of the chrome-plated horizontal slats of the stock car. So far, Maruti Suzuki has offered the SHVS system only on its diesel cars. From this year, however, the company will include the SHVS system in petrol-engined cars, beginning with the 2018 Maruti Ciaz, says a report from CarDekho. In global markets where cost sensitivity is not an issue, Suzuki gasoline cars get SHVS for higher fuel efficiency. Beginning with the new Maruti Ciaz, India will start getting SHVS in the petrol engine-powered Maruti Suzuki cars. In its mid-cycle refresh, the sedan will swap the K14B 1.4L VVT petrol engine with the K15B 1.5L VVT petrol engine. This petrol engine delivers 104.7 PS and 138 Nm of torque in the 2018 Suzuki Ertiga (2018 Maruti Ertiga) that debuted last month in Indonesia. The SHVS mild-hybrid system comprises a belt-driven Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and a small Lithium-Ion battery. The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift has been spotted again. The updated car will launch around August this year and will carry several styling updates to look fresher and more attractive. The Ciaz was first launched in 2014 and has been very popular among C2-segment sedan buyers. However, in the past three-and-a-half years of its career, the only updated it has received include the addition of new variants and the Android Auto for the Smartplay infotainment system. Other than this, the Ciaz was moved from the regular Maruti showrooms to the Nexa premium car outlets last year. The facelift, however, will carry substantial updates, which will help it fend off the heat from cars like the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna. The cosmetic changes that the Ciaz facelift will carry include a newer front-end and an improved rear-end. The interior will also get some changes to spruce up the things a fair bit. Other than this, we also expect the car to get some additional kit for the cabin. … [Read more...] about Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift spotted again, Launch later this year

The Maruti Ciaz is easily the most successful C2-segment sedan from the largest carmaker in the country. The Ciaz has found many takers owing to its attractive pricing, a very spacious cabin, a comfortable ride, and frugal yet sufficiently potent engines. The Ciaz looks pretty handsome, too. But what if the Ciaz was a premium hatchback? We have dug out a couple of speculative renderings of the Ciaz hatchback to give you an idea of what the car would have looked like. As you can see above, the Ciaz looks pretty handsome and well-proportioned even as a hatchback. Of course, the biggest change starts B-pillar onwards. The artist has imagined the Ciaz hatchback with new rear doors, which play an important role in shaping up the car’s new rear-half. There’s also a small angular-shaped quarter glass, which is reminiscent of the one on the Volkswagen Polo. Of course, the rear-overhang has reduced by a great margin owing to the hatchback format. But the rear wheel arches seem to … [Read more...] about Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: What it’ll look like if it becomes a hatchback!
The Suzuki Ciaz (Maruti Ciaz) is not performing well in the Indonesian market. The car’s sales are so dismal that Suzuki Indonesia has stopped stocking it and offers it only on order basis. Indonesia is a market where not just the Suzuki Ciaz, but sedans, in general, aren’t popular. The main reason is that sedans are taxed steeply as they are “luxury goods”. Speaking to Kompas recently, Suzuki Indonesia’s Head of Marketing Donny Saputra said that customers who want to buy the Suzuki Ciaz can still get it, but they must wait because it is imported after bookings are received. The Suzuki Ciaz was launched in Indonesia in November 2015 and is imported from Thailand. According to industry data released by GAIKINDO, only 30 units of the Suzuki Ciaz were sold in the country last year. In December last year, a report said the Suzuki Indonesia may discontinue this model. This year, till the end of February, the company hasn’t sold even a single unit of the … [Read more...] about Suzuki Ciaz (Maruti Ciaz) now available in Indonesia only on order basis
The facelifted Maruti Ciaz has been spied on test yet again. The mid-size sedan was moved to the company’s premium outlet called Nexa and is currently the oldest car in its segment. Hyundai got in the new Verna in August last year while the facelifted Honda City was launched in February 2017. High-time Maruti launched the Ciaz facelift keeping it relevant in the market. MotorBeam reader Sukhpreet Singh has spotted the car and clicked images for us.The black test car looks identical to the current Maruti Ciaz courtesy the alloy wheels, headlights and tail-lights. Though the car is completely camouflaged, it reveals the projector headlamps, fog lamps and ORVM-mounted turn indicators. Considering that both of its rivals now offer a sunroof, Maruti could go that extra mile and offer one on the facelifted Ciaz as well (on the range-topping Alpha trim). This is probably the mid-variant being tested and the automaker is expected to introduce more features (like automatic headlights and … [Read more...] about 2018 Maruti Ciaz Facelift Spotted Testing Yet Again
