The German manufacturer will reveal its third SUV in the fall of 2017. Opel continues to work on its ambitious project, which will see 29 new models launched by the end of the decade, as it has announced its third SUV model will be named Grandland X. Set to hit the market in the fall of 2017, the vehicle will have roughly the size of the Volkswagen Tiguan, and will share most of its technologies with the similarly-sized Astra and Zafira. It’s still too early for detailed information, but Opel says the new SUV will combine “the coolness of a SUV with a high level of driving dynamics” and will be the perfect choice for customers who live actively. As for the design, the vehicle’s styling will “cleverly” combine “ruggedness with elegance,” while “the interior design concept will offer plenty of comfort paired with a high level of practicality.”“The name Opel Grandland X stands for an adventurous type … [Read more...] about Grandland X is Opel’s way to say VW Tiguan
PSA and Opel could announce their merger before the start of the show. Opel’s latest addition to the booming SUV segment, the Crossland X, will make its show premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show next week. This might sound as an expected move, but it’s actually isn’t. The German brand had plans to focus its attention at the show on the all-new Insignia and leave the subcompact crossover out of the party, but that has changed. According to a report from Automotive News, the new decision comes in part thanks to the talks between parent company General Motors and PSA about acquiring Opel and Vauxhall. Word on the street says the two automakers will rush to make the deal official before the start of the show, where the new partnership will be promoted. The Crossland X could have an important role, as it is the first model developed as part of an agreement signed between Opel and PSA back in 2012.“It was our original plan to focus mainly on our … [Read more...] about Opel Crossland X to shine in Geneva thanks to PSA takeover talks
Nov 15, 2019 by Megan Hennessey Leave a Comment The 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show is just around the corner. It promises dozens of debuts, many of which are electric vehicles. With more EVs available to consumers, we wanted to see how they feel about purchasing and owning one. We queried 1,702 vehicle owners and compared the results to our 2018 survey. Interest in EV Ownership Increases, But Price Still Proves an Obstacle In 2018 when we asked respondents how likely they were to own an EV, just 15% said they would probably or definitely own one in the next five years. For 2019, that number jumped to 26%. While respondents were not asked why they are more likely to consider an EV, it’s likely that this increase may be in part due to the larger number of EVs available. Since last year’s survey, Audi, Mercedes, and Jaguar have all introduced new EVs. And there’s no sign of automakers slowing down. Hyundai, Volkswagen, and Toyota have all announced plans to introduce … [Read more...] about More Shoppers Consider Owning EVs, CarGurus Survey Finds
The GT-inspired concept is the company's first all-electric effort, and it's a good one. Genesis doesn’t just have its G70 manual-equipped sport sedan on display at the 2018 New York Auto Show. The company just pulled the covers off this stunning electric concept car called Essentia, and to say it’s striking among the various machines on the auto show floor is an understatement. Update: Genesis Essentia Might Arrive In 2021, Company Boss Hints Genesis Essentia Going Into Production As Brand's Priciest Car This concept is a first for Genesis in many ways. For starters, it’s chock full of carbon fiber from the body to its monocoque structure and chassis. It’s also the company’s first full-on battery-electric vehicle, and though details on the power are not available, it’s said to have multiple electric motors that can send the Essentia to 60 miles per hour in an estimated three seconds. Of course, this is a concept … [Read more...] about Genesis Essentia Concept Electrifies NY With Its Gorgeous Body
