Ford Will Focus On Trucks And SUVs, Only Offer Two Cars In U.S.
It's all about those sweet, sweet profits. Ford’s future product lineup will look sparse if you’re searching for a hatchback or a sedan. The Dearborn automaker plans to eliminate a slew of products – C-Max, Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, and Taurus – while focusing on the higher profits that come with crossovers, SUVs, and trucks. That means eliminating a majority of the brand’s sedans while leaving the Ford Mustang and all-new Ford Focus Active. Currently, Ford loses money on the Fiesta, Focus, and Fusion, according to The New York Times. “Over the next few years, the Ford car portfolio in North America will transition to two vehicles – the best-selling Mustang and the all-new Focus Active crossover coming out next year,” the company said today in its Q1 financial report. 1952 Ford Truck Literally Drives Backwards Into The Future
Everyone on the road loves seeing this old pickup that always appears to be going backwards. Driving in reverse can be tough, especially as your speed increases, because all of your usual steering inputs are the opposite of how you normally control a vehicle. Race car driver Davey Hamilton has an eye-catching solution by flipping the body around on a 1952 Ford pickup. Now, when going down the road, the old truck appears to be going in reverse. Gallery: Backwards 1952 Ford Truck 8 Photos Hamilton got the idea for his truck from a friend in Maine who owned something similar to this weird ride. He then started searching for a pickup for the project and specifically wanted something with a wide rear window that could become a suitable windshield. This '52 Ford turned up three miles from his father's house, and it was the perfect starting point for the build. Ten Automotive Superstars of the Nineties
Last updated: Dec 12, 2019 at 2:55PMPublished on: Feb 27, 2015 by zwaller We thought we would follow up our Today’s Most Popular Cars From the 1980s list with its logical sequel: ’90s cars. We looked at our data again and determined which ’90s cars garnered the most interest from CarGurus shoppers. We have to say, this list surprises us a bit less. The ’80s list featured a good number of discontinued cars, but only one car no longer in production made this one. Nineties cars are probably a bit more practical than some of the nearly ancient ’80s models (cars on this list are likely at least 11 years younger), and most of these cars haven’t quite reached collector status. The ’99 model year is the most popular one for almost all these vehicles, the exceptions being the Corvette and Mustang (apparently 1998 was a better year for sports cars). This makes some sense, as consumers likely look for the newest version available. These are most … [Read more...] about Ten Automotive Superstars of the Nineties
CarGurus’ Hottest Cars of 2014
Last updated: Dec 9, 2019 at 4:19PMPublished on: Jan 1, 2015 by zwaller With the year coming to a close, we thought it might a good time to look into the hottest cars of the year for consumers on CarGurus. So we dug into our data mines to determine exactly which vehicles were generating the most interest among our users this last year. These are not necessarily the most purchased vehicles, but rather the vehicles most inquired about by CarGurus users. Some of these cars may surprise you (we certainly didn’t expect a few of them), but we suspect some of these vehicles require a bit of research and shopping around before a buyer will commit to a purchase. It doesn’t surprise us to see that some of the less-often-purchased vehicles, like sporty performance cars, are the among the ones most researched. Someone who is serious about buying will probably do all he or she can to weigh the available options against one another before committing to such a big purchase, and we … [Read more...] about CarGurus’ Hottest Cars of 2014
