With Christmas merely two weeks away, holiday-themed commercials are bound to increase in frequency, as carmakers such as Audi look to put people in a festive mood by associating their products with Santa Claus himself. This nearly 4-minute long video from Audi offers a fresh take on Santa’s image, by having him debut a brand new look that can only be described as more modern. The German automaker had him not only cut his beard, but also lose weight. The only thing missing was hearing the Rocky theme during the training montage part, which included a lot of cardio and even a little boxing – which could come in handy in case he runs into mean children who don’t like their gifts. It’s beginning to look as though Audi weren’t at all satisfied with the facelift applied to the 2019 A4, which is why a more heavily restyled version will make its debut later next year. While we have seen 2020 Audi A4 prototypes before, those were Avant models, whereas this one is the four-door sedan, a much more popular body style in most markets. So then can we spot more significant changes on this version than on the Avant? Thankfully, yes. A facelift might not be enough It almost seems as though Audi weren’t expecting the executive sports sedan segment to grow at the rate at which it has during these past few years. The current Mercedes C-Class has proven immensely successful, Jaguar and Alfa Romeo joined in with shockingly sporty alternatives such as the XE and Giulia, and then Volvo and BMW came out with all-new models in the S60 and 3-Series. Audi unveiled the fifth-generation A4 B9 back in late 2015 and despite its excellent technical prowess, it goes without … [Read more...] about 2020 Audi A4 Sedan Spotted Rocking Redesigned Front And Rear Ends
The new-gen Audi A8 may have one of the nicest and cleanest interiors in the segment. However, it will soon pale next to the upcoming generation of in-car entertainment announced by the automaker. Set to be presented at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, between January 8 and 11, 2019, the technology is split in two: on-the-road entertainment and movie theater-like experience. Described as “the next-generation drive-in movie theater”, the latter is called ‘Audi Immersive In-Car Entertainment’. The automaker says it will allow occupants to enjoy movies and content provided by streaming services while the vehicle is stationary. Since we brought up this topic during our recent Scala article following its official unveiling, we figured we should dive deeper into just how well Skoda’s newest 5-door hatchback compares to the Audi A3 Sportback. Of course, it goes without saying that differences in build-quality, performance and driving dynamics are to be expected, since one of the two is the VW Group’s flagship 5-door hatchback offering, whereas the other is more budget-oriented. Familiar Silhouette The two VW Group model share a similar silhouette, that of a condensed compact wagon, if you will, that’s accentuated by the rear fourth window. Compared exclusively to the Audi, you could make a case for the Scala having a slightly more modern design, although we wouldn’t go as far as to say that it’s better looking than the A3 Sportback, whose styling is a lot less detailed with far fewer lines and creases breaking into the overall aesthetic. What’s interesting though is that the … [Read more...] about How Does Skoda’s New Scala Stack Against The Audi A3?
