The Boring Company chief executive Elon Musk has announced that his tunneling company will host a series of important premieres on December 18. Musk took to his usual place of communication, Twitter, to say that The Boring Company will unveil the autonomous transport vehicles set to be used by the firm’s Loop transportation system. Additionally, The Boring Company will show off a series of ground-to-tunnel car elevators that transport vehicles underground. The Boring Company had intended on launching its L.A. Test Tunnel on December 10th but has decided to push that launch back to the 18th as well. Musk’s team started construction of the tunnel just over 12 months ago to test the viability of his underground transport concept. The tunnel measures two miles (3.2 km) in length and, on its unveiling, eager members of the public will be offered free rides. Earlier this year, The Boring Company was given the go-ahead to dig up a piece of land in the District of Colombia in Washington, D.C. to build a Hyperloop.
