Mr Sheehan said that the PSNI called to his Belfast home on Friday evening and informed him of the threat and that the group may be planning on taking action against him. West Belfast MLA Sheehan insisted he would not be intimidated by the threat. “Whoever this threat stems from, it will not deter me or my party from representing the people of West Belfast,” he said. “The people behind these kind of faceless threats have nothing to offer this community. “They will certainly not prevent me from continuing to stand up for the rights and entitlements of all the people of West Belfast as I have been l elected to do.” The West Belfast MLA is a former IRA member and joined the 1981 hunger strikes at the Maze Prison, going 55 days without food or water before the strike was called off. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1978 for causing an explosion.
