TALLADEGA, Ala. – Kurt Busch led a Stewart-Haas Racing qualifying sweep of the top four positions on Saturday afternoon at Talladega Superspeedway. Busch topped qualifying for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 1000Bulbs.com 500, sweeping both rounds en route to his fifth pole of the season. Busch’s 48.906-second lap in the final round of qualifying gave him the top spot over his teammate Clint Bowyer. The second row also belonged to Stewart-Haas, with Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola qualifying third and fourth, respectively. “Four Stewart-Haas Fords…I’m really happy that I got the fast one,” said Busch after his first pole at a restrictor plate race. Hendrick Motorsports was also impressive, with Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson, Alex Bowman and William Byron qualifying fifth through eighth. Joe Gibbs Racing took the next two positions, with Kyle Busch qualifying ninth and Denny Hamlin qualifying 10th. Martin Truex Jr. and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. completed the top-12 in qualifying. Brad Keselowski (18th), Ryan Blaney (19th), Joey Logano (20th) and Kyle Larson (34th) were the only playoff drivers who failed to make the final round of qualifying.
