MARINA BAY, Singapore – Kimi Raikkonen put Ferrari at the top of the Formula One practice charts on Saturday at the Marina Bay Street Circuit Raikkonen posted a best time of 1:38.699 in the second practice on the pink hypersoft tires, the softest tires Pirelli offers, which was barely enough for Raikkonen to lead the speed charts. Lewis Hamilton came up just .011 of a second short of Raikkonen’s time to end the day second. Next on speed charts were the Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo, who paced the first practice session earlier in the day. Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas ended the day fifth overall. Renault’s Carlos Sainz Jr. impressed by setting the sixth best time, followed by the Haas of Romain Grosjean and Fernando Alonso’s McLaren. Sebastian Vettel was only able to muster the ninth best time and was nearly two seconds off his teammate after slapping the wall in turn 21 on a qualifying simulation lap. He sat out the final 30 minutes of the second practice as a result.
