The 2019 Ford Ranger has been a fantasy of American mid-sized truck fans since the model went away years ago. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting its return, you’d have been excited to see that Ford’s official build-and-price was briefly live today. Ford has since told us that it was not supposed to launch until next week, so you’ll have to take our findings with some salt. Update: August 7, 2018 10:55 a.m. PST: Ford responded to questions about the 2019 Ford Ranger Build And Price that showed up on Twitter before it was on Ford’s media site. It was definitely an official Ford page, but a spokesperson from the company clarified that it was not intended for public consumption. Per their email: “This was a mistake and is being pulled down. There will not be a regular cab Ranger and pricing shown is inaccurate. Build and Price will officially go live next week.” As I wrote this intially, the 2019 Ford Ranger configurator was hot and ready but I’m guessing that link will be dead by the time you can click it. Anyway, since Ford did not articulate which part of it was inaccurate, I’ll just leave what I observed while it was live: The selection screen lets you pick between a regular cab(!), SuperCab extended cab and a SuperCrew four-door.
