Plymouth, MI — This year’s July 27-29 event will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a focus on Bugatti and Plymouth as featured marques, plus pay tribute to Porsche’s seven decades with a variety of activities. The action kicks off with Friday’s Motoring Tour Presented by Hagerty, featuring a leisurely drive through Michigan’s scenic Wayne and Oakland counties. Among the tour stops is a visit to the all-new LBI Limited Detroit and to the M1 Concourse, a new gated facility that’s home to private garages and the Champion Motor Speedway. Friday evening’s Motor City Mingle will open with a dinner honoring a number of special guests, including Sam and Emily Mann (Collectors of the Year) and Mark Reuss (Enthusiast of the Year), with proceeds benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Saturday’s action includes a 10 a.m. Porsche Racing Legends seminar sponsored by Bosch that features stories from Brian Redman, Hurley Haywood and Vic Elford, all of whom drove for both the Werks teams and privateers. Collectively, they scored major victories for the marque at Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans, as well as contributing to multiple world championships. And starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, the 40th annual concours at the Inn at St. John’s will feature more than 300 significant classic and historically relevant vehicles ranging from the Gas Light era to Modern Collectibles.
